It would have been a lot more enjoyable if Author had given the Mc mental fortitude and mental capacity matching his divinity. I guess Authors like to make extremely flawed characters and it is convenient for plot development. But a wise and mature Mc would have been lot more likable than a naive and emotional teenager.
