Read books
Yes... in this story. but you understood my concern.
A bloodline is blood. It's not equipment. Every story with bloodlines, it becomes a PERMANENT part of the individual. It isn't an item. it IS a STEREOTYPE. This is the only time I have ever seen an author grossly misconstrue the issue.
Basically, he is NOT working towards his abilities.
Yep. He's an idiot. The BEST strategy would be a night raid - kill everyone while they sleep. When you're out numbered and weaker, this is the ONLY method that works. Otherwise, you need technology that lets you out perform. He doesn't have this. What he's suggesting isn't even an opinion. It is suicide by stupidity.
I read a story the other day in which the MC hunted an entire herd of deer style animals. He then sold all the meat and complained about starving & never eating enough. I stopped reading at that point.
Should also point out that there are fundamental differences between the main systems the author is trying to incorporate into the story: Martial Gods, Spirit Cultivation (Immortal path), Body Cultivation, Demonic Cultivation, & Demon Cultivation. The author, unfortunately, gets these seriously mixed up partway in, so much so that he had to literally spend a chapter on an author's note just to tell people flat out he - the author - can't tell the difference between Martial Gods and Body Cultivation Systems. I mean... LOOK THIS SH*T UP!
Depends on story world and cultural background of the author. But for the most part an author has to stick to what a stereotype is supposed to be when they use them. Traditional Elves (Fae) are completely different from High Fantasy Elves (RPG/Tolkien/D&D). It's like saying Kobold. Traditional Kobolds (Fae) are no different from Dwarves and Knockers. But High Fantasy Kobolds are tiny lizard people. One the other hand, due to a mistranslation of early D&D games back in the 70s, Japanese Kobolds are small dog people. It's all about Setting and Origin. Can't describe a Cow and then call it a Cat. It would not work.
Let's put this in perspective: 5 bullets in a war of millions is not going to do squat. That is the issue here. But a million trained soldiers versus normal untrained volunteers makes a difference. This is that type of situation. Physical objects are so limited, that they might as well not exist. They're of no benefit.
