In the UK you start reception at 4-5, and then year 1 starts after that, you would then carry on in school till year 11, changing from primary to secondary In year 7, after year 11 you can either go Inot college, an apprentiship or sixth form, all lasting 2 years but sixth form is the only place the years are called 12 and 13, university coming after that, but univsersity is generally only accessible for academic subjects through sixth form, and artistic subjects can be pursued through college or sixth form as its portphilo based not alevel results
