My dogs are bigger than me. But still refuse to keep my feet warm in winter. Defective beasts.

I think he might be referring to the fever the Female Lead developed from almost drowning.
Maybe he means "burned to death from the fever." The next sentence tells her to just take credit for bringing her back but to say she doesn't know who pulled her out of the river. I suppose this is to still make her seem like she saved our Female Lead; even if it's a 2nd place saving and not a 1st.
Glass Staircase; so dangerous. Imagine if you accidentally spilled a drink as you walk up the stairs in the middle of the night. Oops, now the glass step is slick and oh, no! you aren't anyway to be seen on the steps anymore. Do you know why? It's because you are on your head at the bottom of the stairs. Glass steps are dangerous.
No, a hot air balloon is a terrible idea. You are literally at the mercy of the wind; even when a hot air balloon is tethered to the ground so it shouldn't cause trouble and injuries. If the wind decides injuries are happening; injuries happen. For instance, a sudden gust of wind slamming the hot air balloon into the police headquarters building. The children's museum was terribly upset by this as the patrons got minor injuries and a terrible fright. The police department was more upset by this and grounded the hot air balloon. They did not like being attacked by a hit air balloon.
That's cool but due to the nature of apples it will not taste the same as the apple the seed came from. That's why apples tend to be propagated through grafting. Granted if you're just going to use the apples to make alcohol you aren't that concerned with the initial taste of the apple. And I suppose if you you grow a lot of apples from seeds you have a higher chance of finding a tasty tasty apple.
Yeah, that seems like something that wouod happen. There was a TV shows "1000 Ways to Die." One episode it told about this person who died from an alcohol enema. She was an alcoholic and was told she couldn't drink alcohol anymore. Unfortunately, she decided an alcohol enema was necessary for her lifestyle. It was the last bad choice she made and she never again made a good choice .
What does she mean by internally? Did she pour it in her ears? Did she take it as an enema? Or did the author mean she drank Baijiu? Because drinking baijiu shouldn't kill you; unless you drink a lot. Pouring in your ear shouldn't kill you either, the absorption rate should be too low. But if you take Baijiu as an enema that could kill you. The absorption rate is very fast because of the nature of the tissues in your colon. Don't do an alcohol enema it is bad news.
Ouch! Gold is really heavy; much heavier than movies and TV would make you think. I hope Lin Murong has enhanced strength.
"The first devices identified as guns or proto-guns appeared in China from around AD 1000.[3] By the end of the 13th century, they had become "true guns",..." from the Wikipedia entry on "Gun," accessed December 31st, 2024 at 5:25PM GMT. Guns are older than one would expect. Although, I'm not exactly clear on when this story is supposed to take place. So, it could be that this story is placed too early for guns.
Whether the underlying automatic system is MTL or Autocorrect/autocomplete; the main issue is in the author's or translator's unequivocal trust in the computer to be right. Hence, in both cases there is a lack of proper proofreading. Truthfully, I'm not as diligent in proofreading my writing as I once was. This leads to "it" becoming "of" or words being out of order more than I would like.
