What can I say, it makes sense that Merlin is the mastermind of the vault of sin 1° He was a Slytherin, not wanting to be prejudiced but this house is famous for having its dark secrets 2° In many versions of Camelot's story Merlin was famous for his magic and also for deceiving and also controlling the minds of his opponents, he even in some stories manipulate King Arthur to follow his will.
And does it seem to me that Quinn is getting more and more reckless? First as said in the text he without any protection or knowledge he faces one of the most dangerous magic there is, then he literally exposes one of the 3 greatest treasures ever revealed in Harry Potter history and brings vital information about the other 2 relying only on the old relationship of teacher and student? Someone please examine this MC's head he has lost 80 IQ points in these last 10 chapters! Thanks for the chapter!
I may be talking nonsense but I understand that magic can be amplified by emotions and strong desires, and sins even if they are bad for people are the deepest and most universal desires there are, a strong and unstable source of power. What happened to Quinn in my view was that he had to relearn how to use magic by turning an uncontrolled magic into a controlled one, once the sins destroyed Quinn's natural control of magic, how to get rid of that? I don't know, the first time it was the shock of realizing he'd be ruining his wandless magic to almost commit a crime, this second time I have no idea.
Can you imagine that because of the fake medallion that was in the cave, the Light faction associates Regulus Black with the invisible warrior in this dimension of Fan fic? Let's face it if he hadn't died he would have been a great suspect! Thanks for the chapter!
A good note about the laws, I really believe that the law of the Harry Potter world is based on English laws with the appropriate cultural and magical adaptations but I think the options should be to tell the truth or keep silent, lie or withhold information before a jury would already become another crime (at least it should!) so I think it would be a way to validate a statement if the person chose to take the potion or use other invented methods to prove that the individual is telling the truth (they are magicians they should be able to create spells for that purpose)
The world of Harry Potter (original) never made much sense, they have potions of truth but they don't use it on defendants and witnesses in inquiries and trials, a teenager can go to jail in Azkaban for accidentally using a spell in front of a muggle but a killer who hunts and kills more than 20 muggles can escape conviction simply by saying he was being "controlled"!
One criticism I have (not against the author of the fan fic but against the original author of Harry Potter) why wizards don't build and live in their own wizarding towns or condominiums? What would be the logic of living constantly worried about hiding when it's so much easier to build a walled condominium exclusively for magicians? Since even pure-blood wizards who are disgusted by Muggles live next to them, it just doesn't make sense! Even if a Muggle-born or mixed-blood does not have a constant need to be around Muggle relatives, it would suffice to buy a car and visit relatives using normal methods every now and then. Thanks for the chapter!
