OFC it is, if it were the same then it wouldn't be as popular as it is. People read fantasy to escape reality. Personally I do not care for dark fantasy romance because it can get too dark and real life is a really dark enough. I completely understand your perspective. My initial opinion was formed during my first reading, and now, after several hundred chapters, I have a more thorough understanding of the characters. Despite this, I still find myself disliking them and their attitudes. Regardless of the underlying reasons, I believe there is never a justification for accosting a stranger who is innocent and as helpless in the situation as the friend they are supposedly trying to assist. The individual expressing such intense animosity on behalf of his friends appears to be acting out of his own prejudiced feelings and views. The male lead, in contrast, never uttered such sentiments nor spoke about the female lead in this manner. He was simply indifferent towards her, a complete stranger he was suddenly compelled to marry, regardless of his personal feelings. He recognized her helplessness and never attributed blame to her, only to his stepmother and his unfortunate father. While his (ML's) friends may have had good intentions, that does not diminish the impact of their actions. As the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. There are numerous ways to protect one's friends and loved ones that do not involve the methods they employed. At nearly 38 years old, I speak from experience and acknowledge that this is a fictional novel world with different characters and society. However, this does not excuse individuals from engaging in harmful actions or abusing their power or privilege over someone with a disability, especially when their own cherished friend also has a disability, perhaps even more severe than the person they so greatly disdain. In my opinion, they have not redeemed themselves, nor have they offered an apology or even acknowledged the wrongfulness of their actions, particularly the individual in question. I am not anticipating any such gestures from them. While we are not obligated to like everyone, it is a fundamental expectation that everyone should, at the very least, treat all individuals with basic respect. I am not giving up on the novel, and I do not intend to complain to you specifically; I am simply out of patience for individuals like this, both in fiction and in real life. So heartbreaking but honestly I bet the father never had a single regret about rushing in to save his child. I do believe he probably wish he had more time with his wife but would still make the same decision to rush in to their burning house all over again if he had the chance choose again. 🥺💔😢
