There are many card games other than poker and I would say poker is one of the more limited becuase you have to have something to bet to play. Most other card games can just be played to win.

If she is s commoner it is possible she has never bathed in hot water.

That actually makes sense the alcohol causes the body to restore heat to the limbs at the cost of core body temperature but the hot soup provides heat and fuel to the core keeping it from cooling.

Could add in Alien and the predator for good measure.

They do try to take morality into account but some things are not easy to judge and environment will change them.

No dryads are not human and usually only protect thier own tree which is thier true body. A druid is far more appropriate comparison.
