Okay, fair points—let me clarify. I’m not saying the MC should’ve punted a 6-year-old into the sun, lol. Of course you don’t fight kids. But it’s not *just* about the kid. It’s about the pattern. If even commoners—let alone a king’s own people—feel bold enough to openly disrespect an elf prince (who’s supposed to be their ally), what stops others from doing worse later? The king’s apology and gift are nice, but gifts don’t fix cultural disrespect. It’s like slapping a bandage on a broken bone. And yeah, the kid’s weak—no mana, totally harmless. But the insult wasn’t *just* from the kid. It’s from the whole vibe of the kingdom letting that behavior slide for years. If the king’s such a bro, why hasn’t he taught his people basic respect for allies? That’s the red flag. You’re right—war’s overkill here. But letting it go *completely* feels like the MC’s saying, “Insult me all you want, I’ll just take your treasures and leave.” Where’s the self-respect? Also, c’mon—this is a *fantasy novel*. Tiny slights *always* snowball into bigger drama. Maybe the author isn’t tripping now, but you *know* that “harmless” disrespect will come back later when some noble pulls the same crap. The MC’s a mage, sure, but he’s also a leader. Leaders don’t just flex power—they set standards. Letting this slide just tells everyone his kingdom’s cool with being disrespected. But hey, you’re not wrong either—starting a war over this would be wild. I just wish the MC addressed the root issue instead of shrugging it off. Diplomacy’s good, but so is drawing a line.
Look, I get where you're coming from—war is a huge deal, and it’s not something to take lightly. But it’s not just about starting a fight over nothing. It’s about respect. If a kingdom lets people from another race openly insult them, it makes them look weak. And in a world where power is everything, that kind of weakness can come back to bite them later. The king might seem like he’s being diplomatic by opening his treasury, but isn’t that just avoiding the real problem? If he’s such a good friend, why didn’t he make sure his people showed some basic respect? And yeah, I know the idea that the king might’ve planned it sounds like a stretch, but come on—kings in these stories are always playing 4D chess. It’s not crazy to think he might’ve let this happen to test the MC or stir up some drama. I get that racism between races is a common trope in web novels, but just because it’s a trope doesn’t mean the characters should just roll over and accept it. Diplomacy is important, sure, but there’s a fine line between being diplomatic and being a doormat. If the MC’s kingdom keeps backing down, it’s only going to make them look like an easy target. And you’re right—war would weaken them, but so would letting their enemies think they can push them around without consequences. I’m not saying war is the *only* option, but sometimes you’ve got to stand your ground. If the MC shows strength now, it might stop bigger problems down the line. Letting this slide could just embolden their enemies to try something worse later.
it's better if they start a war then letting even the commoners insult them. What is even worse is that the king who is a good friend might even have planned it.... it's better if an outsider is an enemy rather than the one who is close to you..
like mother like son... only speak against same race
is this harem?
author.. you sure it doesn't focus on romance?
harem?

I also give it a chance once again... but I couldn't even read 4 chapter more before dropping it.
