Boo, the truthful answer should have been neither. That was a good question and would have been more interesting of a reaction.
Why not ice? You know, so someone doesn't round the corner and find out she has another element she is hiding from people?
I kind of want to know what Madi and Silvi's trial of the hearts were. They have had so little character development so far that this would have been a great chance to bring them out a little. Lyrica's trial I'm least interested in because it is the most guessable.
Author here. I've written some books for publication, but as they go through the editor gauntlet I'm writing this one for fun, so please tell me what you think or drop a vote. I'm dyslexic, so I know there are some errors, but my favorite part of this book is the story weaving. Don't blink, don't take anything for granted, you might be surprised what comes back later in the story. I know it keeps surprising me and I'm planned out to end game already. If enough people like it I might do a volume 2.
Maybe it's because I'm from a multiracial area, but I took it as they "bred" it out of their family. So, maybe long ago there was a black ancestor and either purposefully or coincidently those characteristics disappeared in further generations. Though I'm interested to know what the other intended. (BTW, I loved the mystery of wondering what 'kind' they ment. Red herrings like that make things more interesting, kind of pose a double meaning, and make a good running... I don't quite want to say gag in case people find that disrespectful, but maybe playful intrigue? Because you know they don't know, but she might not always.)
