well that's why at the end I mentioned *Enough* power. what's the point of reaching the pinnacle if the things you love are what you have to give up? I, and most people, aren't determined and crazed enough like a RI character, and I think you also aren't crazy like that.

isn't that a bit much? Although not a perfect analogy, isn't a man with a loving wife and happy family, with a decent job at peace if he enjoys his time? No one can ever have no sorrows or problems, since that sort of peace is impossible, but the kind of peace that is just enjoyment and a vague sort of bliss is very possible. The man can very well be killed by a gun shot or his family could be could up in an attack anytime, but the chances are so low that does it matter THAT much? maybe so precautionary measures yeah but no one is going to spend obscene amounts of time obsessed with safeguarding their peace, since that just negates the peace. Just like that having a decent amount of power in a fantasy world should be enough if you just want peace.
