I mean the whole concept of a harem is flawed. By making the main character be in a relationship with multiple side characters it lessens the development and importance of said "side characters". In most harems the girls in the protagonists harem are all boiled down to one character trait rather than actual characters. For example: The tsundere one, the yandere one, the childhood friend etc. This causes them to have a lesser amount of importance in the story and prevents them from developing actual reasonable personalities. The only two anime where harem were handled well were Konosuba and Mushoko Tensei in my opinion.

Sorry but this story isn't on hiatus it's dropped. Currently, I've been working on another work. Instead of updating chapter by chapter I plan to release all the chapters of a fanfic at once hence it's been taking up most of my time. However, after I finish my current project I do plan on rebooting this fanfic.

I think I went a little overboard I'll make sure Asta doesn't become like that from next chapter onward

In Black clover magic is a lot more flexible, there's steel magic, dark magic, time magic etc. In tbate magic is more restrictive, there are four basic elements, deviants and special deviants. I felt that having both types of magic be the same wouldn't make much sense. PS - Slight spoilers but I need to say this to properly answer your question. Asta was isekai'd to another world. He just doesn't know that yet. Hope that answers your question !
