I feel like I've gotten the hang of it. Lifelike characters in fantasy worlds. Some bright, some dark. That's about it.

I really enjoyed the first couple dozen chapters. What's bothering me about this novel is generally just the extraordinarily long filler chapters in Rivendell and the fact that the MC has too many free cheats. Filler is important after extended action in order to calm down to avoid fatigue. But practically all suspense was sucked out when the filler was used to give the MC more power, political backing, prestigious bloodlines and such than he really needs for his quest. LOTR has a soft magic that isn't really all that explained. For the purpose of this story, giving the MC a half-elven hero bloodline would've been enough. But the cheats just keep coming. And when he couldn't decide between two great system rewards, he was just given both as a freebie. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy this fanfic. I like that it tries to be lore accurate most of the time. I'm just not in love with the system and system rewards, as they take away from the immersion by rewarding the MC with powers from other franchises. Author, if you see this, I want you to know that you're doing good for a first novel. Better than myself, because you can keep improving your story despite the criticism, while I put mine on permanent hiatus due to personal doubts and a lacking maturity to process criticism.
Kidnapping comes later. I'm on a break right now, because I stumbled upon a great novel. And apparently, I can only write at peak efficiency when: 1) I'm reading trash (Good novels are too distracting for me to get creative) 2) I'm well rested 3) I eat healthy I already addressed point 2 and 3, but I can't do anything about point 1 for now. I'm hooked. And now I need to finish the novel asap to get back to writing.
The MC is a space monkey. And his temper is better than mine.🙈
Dragon Ball is just crazy like that. Frieza was 7 when he destroyed Planet Vegeta. Turbo is a floating human toddler with super intelligence. And Bulma is just pretty pretty smart. Some kids in Asia learn how to write at age 3. A Super-Genius in Dragon Ball should be better than that.
I guess you refer to Bulma's actions that don't correlate with her perceived intelligence in the Anime. Well, there's being book-smart, and street-smart. You can be an ace academically, but still mess up when it comes to real life. Take Sheldon from 'The Big Bang Theory', or any of the other nerds. Despite being pretty smart, they're way more socially awkward and more of a mess around other people than Bulma. Bulma is just the kind of person that excels in private, but becomes less capable when someone looks over her shoulder.
I've got 28° in my room. I feel like steamed hams right now.
That's a good question. I started this as a joke to make writing easier. But then I realized its potential for the plot.. I plan on revealing, and fixing the trauma relatively soon. Because even the best joke gets old if used too much. After fixing it, I might refer to it again as an insider joke though. If you're curious about it, you might want to read chapter 1 (the auxiliary chapter) I made it an auxiliary chapter, because it's not THAT important to the story / a big spoiler. Furthermore, I will mention it again at the big reveal.
I could only now see the wisdom in this. Thanks.
"Stealing one's Fate" You won't find it for now. Maybe it will become visible once I upload more chapters.
I have plans about Tien Shinhan...
