Since the previous paragraph said "Dark Wizard Dark Lord, ... , is shocked beyond belief", and OP asked why they were shocked, it seemed clear that they were referring to Dark Wizard Dark Lord. Though they said yes when you said they weren't shocked but were expecting it, which is confusing. The POV thing is me not being sure if it's the narrator or character talking with the 'just as predicted' thing. Either a unclear POV shift or narrator interjection, I think.

Webnovel cutting things off is annoying. I thought it cut off after a certain # of words, but shortening it leads to less words shown total. :/ Even with saying yes, I'm not sure how their first comment could be referring to the MC. Adding in the opinions of someone not in the scene, without a POV change, doesn't help. Though maybe "Just as Ethan predicted." was meant to be a scene switch and not narrator comment? I read it as 3rd person, not Ethan POV, but maybe it was meant to be Ethan's response to the SOS in chat. Rambling is at least partly because I'm tired.

MC didn't share information, wasn't thanked for that information, and thought them naive because anyone could be a enemy in the future. No reason to be shocked. He could also acquire glasses, since they'd likely develop a similar effect after enhancing them. Hearing is a bit harder (if he actually cared that it was specifically hearing). The SSS Rank might stop the detrimental effects of enhanced senses, but he'd (presumably) still need a basis for the effect to form. Taking and wearing someone else's hearing aids sounds really unsanitary (I don't think I'd be able to get over that, personally). Earmuffs muffle sounds, and earbuds/headphones also usually make it harder to hear your surroundings. Maybe he can see what enhancing a compass gives him? Or a map? Probably wouldn't work as hoped, but maybe he could mimic the Marauders' Map. The compass likely wouldn't end up with a completely useless effect from the attempt. ... Actually, does he have a phone? I can't remember one way or the other.

How unfortunate for them, that it didn't quench their thirst as expected. :P

How generous... I haven't read anything The Gamer-esque in a while (though not everything with a RPG-based System is "The Gamer"), but most of the variations I saw weren't this generous, if they even had a Luck stat. And it was usually the only stat you couldn't train without using points, with some exceptions. ;) When the Luck stat existed, then usually they were given no (aka 0) points in luck, ??? luck stat, or 1 point in luck. Occasionally I saw negative Luck. To give 10 points, matching the other stats? Truly something he should be grateful for... though, admittedly, 1 point of Luck was often treated as Average Luck, with no true boosts or penalties.

Honestly, this seems unnecessary and upsetting. Mostly because of how bad the characters are portrayed here. Shiro is rather OOC (unless her missing soul did have an effect that somehow is only now noticeable), and Nan Tian has a unintentionally toxic way of caring (though I can't say it's entirely unrealistic, admittedly). He's forcing her into a wheelchair she doesn't need (making it needlessly embarrassing, so adding extra emotional stress when she has a damaged/partially missing soul, and I assume emotional distress probably doesn't go well with soul-based injuries of any sort), arguing with her when she was previously ready for sleep (and apparently it ended up being forgotten after the arguing, so it's extra upsetting), and even wants to limit her by getting her to remove her ability to see (though I thought she was trying to use this as an opportunity to practice using her boundary and mana to see, but guess that was forgotten), as well as getting her to limit her ability to move. Which is why I feel like this has been a fairly toxic interaction, even if he's worried. He doesn't seem to be thinking, while Shiro seems to have forgotten even the simplest argument of her being able to walk. What he should be focused on is limiting activities to reduce her stress, her getting more rest, and perhaps suggest things she can do (talking to her friends, exploring the city, thinking up skills for when she's better, going to see her parents again in a dual-purpose visit, ect.)... not insisting on a wheelchair like this. Maybe get her some plushies or something. But this chapter gives me the impression that he has a toxic way of caring for people, and that apparently Shiro might've lost some intelligence with her senses (though I haven't got a guarantee on her intelligence coming back, though I expect some will). I also don't get why Shiro not only has no actual argument, and forgotten that she can make a wheelchair... but can't she shrink and rest on his shoulder or something? It might satisfy him, and the city and it's military may never know. If I saw our strongest combatant (who's a Demi-Goddess and our ruler) in a wheelchair so soon before a major fight, I'd definitely be worried and nervous... and if you tell me they were injuried for a while and nobody noticed, I'd probably be a bit tense whenever I thought about it even if they later seemed fine, and I'd probably hesitate during the upcoming battle if I was a part of their military. If someone never knew about it in the first place, that'd be better for morale. So, not only is he forcing her into a wheelchair she doesn't need, this'll very possibly lower morale, and could cost them when they need to fight for the relic. My understanding of wheelchairs is that they are generally used when one either can't walk, or when doing so means a risks of injuring oneself/furthering pre-existing injuries... Shiro has already proved through healing her eyes that she isn't physically injured. She has also more than proven to be able to get around on her own. While attempting to ban her from anything intense (or even stressful) is reasonable, considering that she's missing 2 senses (though I'm pretty sure it's been more than the originally estimated 3-4 weeks, and possibly going on the 5th week? She honestly should've had at *least* partially recovered, even if her lack of rest could've slowed her healing... ) forcing her into a wheelchair is not necessary, and nobody else who knew found it necessary. The fact that Shiro didn't put any actual effort into her argument, even on the very simple point of being able to walk (and having fought without her weakened state being noticed) seems incredibly OOC. Surely she should've been able to think of quite a few points to make, but instead she doesn't have any real argument, nor does she make any real attempt at one? Her plans to go sleep seem to go to the wayside (honestly the main tipping point, and why I'm commenting on this particular paragraph), despite being fatigued and ready for sleep before this happened (which Nan Tian actually noticed before he even came over, but seems to have forgotten about/assumed to be somehow fixed by the wheelchair). Given that she doesn't seem to be planning on going to bed at this time, apparently him arguing with her lead to her forgetting about the sleep she needed to literally heal her soul... so now he's basically negatively affecting her healing. I would've been fine with it if it would actually help her heal... but the only way I see this helping is if they're planning on shaming her for not resting everytime they see her not in a wheelchair, which is needlessly hurtful (I know it's Shiro, but shaming people is generally considered to be hurtful), or if they're trying to use the embarrassing wheelchair as a way to get her to stay in her room and rest. :/ This isn't about shipping, it's just that this interaction feels toxic and overbearing when it shouldn't be. Also, needlessly OOC. I was expecting Shiro to be more... Shiro during this, but apparently her mind went blank and she just agreed to this for some reason. Because he was emotional and she didn't want to hurt his feelings? Because she didn't feel up for arguing despite being against it? I would've expected her to argue about it, and either them eventually compromising a bit on her schedule, and/or him realizing it isn't what she needed. But instead she just accepts without any attempt to negotiate? Nobody else suggested a wheelchair, including the people who likely have more knowledge than him on this... aka Silvia (who almost certainly knows some things about natural recovery, and sensory-based debuffs... though I'm not sure if she's actually done a thorough checkup on Shiro) and Mio (who checked her soul in the first place). So, either it's something helpful that nobody else thought to suggest in all this time... or it's not needed. I don't think we saw much of the reactions of people to Shiro in a wheelchair before this, but this seems like it would just drop morale for no benefit. 😑
