And there it is, Fairy magic. I tried to make up a concept that would make for smarter battles, instead of just trading Stunning and Killing Curses. I got the inspiration from both folklore and Fate's Dr. Heartless losing his heart to Fairies :) Fairies in mythology are known tricksters, and they aren't above stealing things from hapless humans or swapping their babies for Changelings.

Nagini, Voldemort's pet snake, is a Maledictus, for example. You can just think of the disease as a turbo cancer form of blood maledictions

I’d always described the sisters thinking of Astoria’s blood malediction as the result of conflicting bloodlines; but I never said that the Wood Nymph’s was the primary one in her case. I’ll explain more in chapter 257. Until now, the story has mostly been about Oleandra, but going forward from volume 5, Astoria and Daphne will take a more important part in the story, and I don’t want the trio to be too unbalanced. That’s not an excuse, but I realize how frustrating this must be. I'm grateful that my readers are so invested in my story that you would empathize with poor Oleandra, haha. But keep in mind that Oleandra will learn fairy magic in just a few chapters, so she’ll definitely get her own powerup. You can think of that as her own bloodline ability!

I didn't have anything that noble in mind; Oleandra will always regard herself as human, having been one all her life. She might slip a little, but her family will always be there to remind her of what's important.

Oleandra followed the mug with hungry eyes. It was as if the potion was calling to her, and her blood was singing to it in response. She needed to drink it badly. She needed it. Needed it. Needed it!

It might have felt a bit short due to the first part being Hagrid's class, but I assure you that all chapters are about the same length of 1k to 1.2k words, haha. As for the yuri... well, the story's not done yet!

In Sirius's and Lupin's minds, the theory that Crouch's son was still alive was becoming more and more likely… Through a roundabout way, the truth was emerging, although their reasoning was completely off: Ginny had been the one to erase those memories, to keep the Horcruxes a secret!

In the end, Oleandra ended up with a sort of ponytail shaped haphazardly like a pineapple's leaves à la Rokudo Mukuro, and she was still lucky not to have ended up with something worse than what she had started with.

Yeah, don't worry about it, it's just a schoolgirl crush she won't act upon. She's just a bit shy around Cedric since he is described as devilishly handsome or whatever, that's all. But there is no predestined guy the way you think he is, though. Oleandra's her own person, and that guy... well, you'll see later, but he's not in any state to be anyone's love interest.

That's what the lore says ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"The Cockatrice is a monster with the head of a rooster and the body of a serpent, hatched from a rooster's egg, incubated by a toad. Locking eyes with it means instant death, and its noxious breath can turn any living being to stone. It flees before the crowing of a rooster and the sight of its own reflection will kill it. That's it! That has to be it!"

There are plenty of secret passages back into the castle. Perhaps he wanted to check in on his monster once in a while?

After I left Hogwarts, I returned to my ancestral home, where I dedicated myself to the task of proving once and for all the superiority of Pure-bloods over Half-bloods and Mudbloods. I knew it to be true, for each of the bloodline clans have their signature magic that only they can perform at maximum efficiency. When the four of us, the greatest Wizards and Witches of our age, came for their spells and magical knowledge, they proved to be quite a challenge, unlike the Wizards' Guilds and Cabals.

That's completely fine, I just went with Astoria's hair from the last movie :)

Daphne Greengrass, of the noble and most ancient house of Greengrass, was nothing if not ordinary. For a witch, that is. To some muggles, maybe she would have seemed like an ephemeral fairy, had they been heavily dosed with love potion, and perhaps very, very drunk. She had dark brown hair, a permanent scowl on her face and cute button nose, and was of regular height for her age. She also had a twin sister, Oleandra. Obviously, her appearance was identical to Daphne's in every way, except for her eyes, which glinted with might have been curiosity. Or perhaps they glinted with mischievousness. Really, who could tell? In any case, Oleandra was somehow even more ordinary than Daphne, which would have made her extraordinary in a certain way, derived from the fact that it seemed like Oleandra was going to turn out to be a squib.
