He's literally turning into Roger physically. It only makes sense for him to use the same style that Roger used, especially after he gets Ace (the sword, not the boi). If I was an identical copy of a martial arts master, who has a fighting style perfectly developed for his body and his weapon, I'd use that same fighting style with a similar weapon.
I on the other hand tried to develop a two sword fighting style. Since I got Shiki's sword and planned to develop a different fighting style from Roger's this would have been perfect but it didn't turned out as planned. - TheMarauder281yrReplied to Emmanuel_Capricorn

Couldn't he just make a vacuum around Ace to remove Ace's access to oxygen?
This caused two things to weaken Kai. One was the fact that he would lose his control over the air in general as the 21% of it that was oxygen started to gravitate towards the flames making it hard to move. The other was his weakness to the fire itself. This caused two things. One was that Kai was more flammable than the average person, and the other was that when fire touched him his body would become solid. Like what happened to Crocodile with water and blood in his fight with Luffy. - TheMarauder281yrCommented
Even if he did use his Devil Fruit, Mihawk would've probably still hit him. If I'm not mistaken, Yoru, Mihawk's sword, is infused with Armament Haki. He can probably hit Logias.
Mihawk and Kai charged at each other as if they both heard a countdown in their heads. They put their full strength into a head on clash and came out on either side of each other. They both turned around to look at each other and sheathed their respective swords. "Good thing I brought a change of clothes. Wahaha." Kai said looking down at his suit that was sliced up as he had a new cut on his chest it was over his right pec and was about 10 inches long. (I'm not an idiot who forgot he was a logia. He said no fruit in the fight and logias can choose to touch things if they want otherwise they wouldn't even be able to pick up a mug.) He shrugged as he would have a new scar which he didn't care much about as his body was already covered in them and in six months he probably wouldn't even be able to tell which one was from Mihawk. - TheMarauder281yrCommented

Another year has passed and life didn't get much better for Kai. Once his dad found out he ate the devil fruit he started strangling him right there before realizing it was a huge loss. He didn't even know what the powers of the fruit were so he left the kid alive. Finally listening to his newly pregnant wife who was begging for him to let Kai live. He let the child drop to the floor after he released his neck as he walked out of the room muttering something about testing that fruit on some clones. - TheMarauder281yrReplied to End_bossCh 91 A challenger?!
