aww that's unfortunate I thought the synopsis was interesting but I can't read books without a system

but you can't deny the efficacy of their system, personal freedom is great for individuals but it's certainly less efficient than authoritarian rule, and propaganda is a very useful tool for reducing unrest and promoting unity. not saying I support these things personally but objectively they do have their benefits.

does the system come back? I really don't like reading novels without a system and am wondering if I can continue reading this.

it's not that weird if you consider it from the perspective of not being designed by humans or for the benefit of humans. if it's more like a universal law or some omnipotent existence then starting at the new day makes more sense than making allowances for the comfort of humans .

I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't a translation error. from my personal experience Chinese people tend to be pretty mental illness phobic. their job market has so much competition that any perceived weakness can be disastrous .so many people won't even consider going to a mental health professional even if they are having trouble. there's also a culture of downplaying the impact of mental health problems as if they can be overcome by just trying harder and that not doing so just means you're lazy.

does every author need to be an expert on everything? if you want truth and nothing but the truth read a scientific paper. it's one thing if it's something glaringly obvious like if the snakes weakness was garlic (although i could see that being quite funny) stabbing something in the heart as an instant kill is pretty widespread across multiple generes.

chinese and English are the two most important languages to learn for anyone interested in doing any form of international business. that's at the least what I'd read a few years ago and seems unlikely to have changed .

that's basically a war pick with a slightly more blade like shape.

I'm surprised I don't see more bladed whip recommendations, as far as bloody comb styles go nor much can beat it.

plus didn't he say he moved to a safer area? so it should be more expensive than normal, unless the drop in population had that big of an impact but considering that everyone would be scrambling to move to the safest places you'd likely end up with a net higher population density, but less consumers means inverse inflation maybe? most products don't require that many people to manufacture so as long as the areas that manufacture them aren't too badly impacted in theory the cost of living could decrease but if it's only been a year it unlikely the panic prices would have passed .

if you go to prep school it can be even later, my ex wouldn't get home until around 10pm in middle and high school .

that's due to the beauty standards being different when food scarcity was more widespread. being fat meant you were wealthy enough to eat a lot and thus was considered a positive trait. a skinny woman might be malnourished and thus have more complications with childbirth thus the inverse could be assumed as well giving rise to the assioation of bigger women and healthy children .

at this point it has to be intentional right?

aren't solid rubber tires pretty common for military use?

the idea that China would be the most successful in a non virus or zombie based apocalypse is pretty reasonable . they are fairly used to working together efficiently and a totalitarian government is generally more effective in a crisis due to its ability to respond quickly,unlike a democracy where divided power can lead to huge, costly delays. furthermore from personal experience the Chinese are willing to treat any animal as food and in 2020 many of the adults would have already experienced a famine I think (Mao was mid 1900's right?) so they would have an easier time adapting to the sudden lack of food production .furthermore their large concentrated population means that they have more labor force to defend themselves and build fortifications. higher personnel pool means statistically more likely to have talented awakened people and in a situation where an expert trumps an army that's a huge advantage .

it's not unreasonable for events to play out this way. everyone has limits, after two back to back huge battles it'd reasonable to be tired, coupled with the natural arrogance anyone in his position would develop and the natural inclination to relax when a battle ends and the adrenaline fades, if one of the enemies who you thought was dead wasn't and struck you from behind its perfectly reasonable to be caught off guard. Now maybe some explanation on how the angel snuck up behind him or some description of exhaustion or such might help but I think the author did very well portraying the scene and the line about human nature was very good, it really help crystallize the mindset of the MC and honestly seemed pretty true as well.
