"forgotten" ? That means to not remember. You probably meant "gotten" though that isn't proper English either. For proper English it would be "got". And "milder" means less intense, but in this sentence it doesn't make any sense.

There's a big difference in crying all night and crying out all night. Crying comes from the tears coming out from the eyes. While crying out comes from making loud noises, usually from intense pleasure.

It's a sense of safety. A sentence is either a string of words or a judge having given his assessment of a criminal's crime and appropriate punishment for said crime.

This is most likely a literal translation error as if the sentence was translated word for word. The loose translation would be "What's wrong?" as it also shows concern, or "What happened?" which means mostly the same without the more obvious concern yet it is still subtly there.

Does Irina have another brother besides Emil? Brothers are two males or more. When it's a brother and a sister together the correct term would be siblings as that term doesn't specify the genders of either family member.
It was ironic to say this, but the two brothers looked ready to succumb.
