I think it's more about the symbolism of being able to afford an expensive car, than about the car itself. It's about the status it brings. That's also one of the reasons why "whaling" in video games is so prevalent in china.

To be fair the timeline is clearly different here. Iron Man is not out yet (and the MC was clearly surprised about the fact that it would come out later) and 12 Angry Men is just getting started. Things are missing and other things are different. It's more like an AU. YT could have started earlier or been mor impactful in this timeline.

I don't think the story has a harem planned. He seems monogamous so far, even if it seems he wouldn't object to casual fun (with his girlfriends knowledge, permission and/or participation). Hasn't happened so far though.

I like the story, but the characters change names regularly. The main character has multiple surnames, but don't even get me started about all the side characters. Sometime the name changes from sentence to sentence and then back again. If you can ignore that, the story is good enough if you need something between serious reading.

That's kind of naive, isn't it? Who says that he wasn't under observation from ANBU all the time? If I let someone have this kind of access to those "forbidden techniques" I would definitely have them watched the whole time.
