Sunny casually outing himself as somebody who knows a little to much for a supposed stranger, or at least newcomer.
Not sure if it’s already stated or assumed, but my going theory is that the shadows represent Sunny’s character or main characteristic up till their creation, where the process then restarted.
Sunny is a defiant little soul already, having defied literally everything under the sun. The only thing that I can imagine Sunny not defying is…I don’t know. Being such an overachiever, being the aspect of death, I think that Eurys is onto something with that not killing thing. Perhaps defying killing something that must be killed will ascend him.
He has died before and lived, but never through his own will explicitly. Either it was through the enchantments of his equipment or through supreme circumstance, such as the river of time and alatheia’s island time loop. I think in the final fight with the sovereigns, Sunny will defy everything. His core character (the selfishness and self preservation above all else), his beliefs, his circumstance whether of his own machinations or not (freeing himself from Nephis/Fate) and true death. I think he’ll die in the final confrontation, either sacrificing himself for Nephis and becoming supreme either then and there or a time after, returning after all else thought him dead.
How bro must have felt:
Epic gamer moment. Now Sunny can switch bodies and rest up while the fresh, newly spawned 7th boi can do the heavy lifting.
What a call back. The Stifled Scream.
I was thinking the same thing.
An Arrogant Shadow indeed. Which one’s which? Up to you.
