I like reading generic xianxia and complaining about it being top generic.

Heres my reasoning behind this. The black books. We know there are two black books. One is "how to be a sc*mbag" which is a physical item that the mc owns. The other is "how to be a ruler" which exists in a place that the mc himself says is "not reality". Think about it, how to be a sc*mbag was actively communicating with him, like telling him to learn archery and even telling him "well done" after returning from the forest. This leads me to believe that the book had a hand in making the mc go to the forest. Whereas in the second case, we know no books got physically involved. Yes the other book showed up but it did literally nothing besides say something vague but there's so much more happening in that second scene like the whole circular room with 7 doors and the heart demons right before that. So i think the second time it happened, the reason wasnt the book but something else. Obviously, I think the black books are connected to each other in some manner, for now I don't know how. Thus, seen from this context, I think the whole going to the forest was a vision shown by the book to the mc. When we learn more about what's happening with the mc's real body, i think it'll make things clear. This is just my personal opinion tho i could be very wrong lol
i think this is like the backstory of how the 14th prince ended up in that potato farm dead/heavily injured and then mc takes over his body and then the story contines. maybe im alone on this but i think the whole thing with the deers in the forest is just the mc seeing visions of some kind. cause like last time, when he was in the forest, time didn't move forward but this time, things are clearly happening back in ether cloud so.
Makes sense. Personally, I'm more curious about the other forest he went to. It's not just gonna be a one off thing, right? No way author would spend that much effort into building up a one off scenario and characters and location. Please author, I really like the dynamic between Yun Lei and Nuo, make him go back.
Story moves on slowly but it's engaging. This is a typical xian xia in many senses of the word but atypical at the same time. It fiercely avoids cliche scenarios like "Courting death!" and no face slapping young masters from other families (even though the MC does slap his father's face). The author seems to care about his story and isn't just writing another lazy rehash of the same d*mn concepts we've seen 200 times. And the MC is actually smart. Like not the author says he's smart while he acts like an absolute dumb*ss smart but actually smart. Like you could agree with many of the things he said while thinking logically. I will say though that personally, I think this book need a little comedy but otherwise, I think this will be quite a decent book about 200 or 300 chaps in. Fighting, author! Totally give it a try before deciding whether this is for you or not.
