The Devils Game
Kazuki Yamada dies in modern Japan and is reincarnated by a cosmic entity into the world of High School DxD as Kazuki Marchosias—the last surviving member of the Marchosias clan, one of the 72 Pillars of devil nobility thought to have gone extinct during the Great War.
He awakens with the Pandora System, which grants him random abilities from across the multiverse based on his actions and achievements. His starter ability is the Mazoku bloodline from Yu Yu Hakusho, giving him access to youki (demonic energy) that operates completely differently from standard devil magic. This, combined with his inherited Beast Dominion clan trait (the ability to manifest and combine various beast characteristics), creates a unique fighting style unlike anything in the DxD universe.
The story begins eight years before canon events, giving Kazuki time to grow strong enough to not just survive but actively influence the coming chaos. He starts as a weak low-class devil with minimal training, struggling to master his powers while hidden in his family's sealed estate. After a life-threatening encounter with stray devils, he makes contact with Sona Sitri, which leads to him being discovered by devil society.
Forced to prove he can survive independently or face being placed under guardianship, Kazuki undergoes three months of brutal training, developing a combat style that fuses devil magic, youki, and later touki (life energy) into devastating combinations. As his Mazoku bloodline awakens, he begins taking on physical traits and personality influences from Raizen—long wild hair, facial markings, predatory instincts, and incredible combat potential.
The story focuses on Kazuki's journey from powerless orphan to a force capable of standing among the supernatural world's elite. Unlike typical DxD protagonists, he doesn't join a peerage or rely on a Sacred Gear—his strength comes from relentless training, tactical intelligence, and the unique synergy of his multiple power systems.
Future harem members (confirmed: Rias, Akeno, Serafall, Kuroka, Yasaka, Sona) will be introduced and developed naturally, with relationships building over the years rather than instant attraction. Multiverse travel will occur later in the story, after establishing the DxD world thoroughly.
The story is inspired by "The Game Must Go On" by Crossedge, sharing the system-based power progression and intelligent protagonist approach, but with its own unique powers, and direction.
