update: no yeah I see your point. I gave it 700 chapters and nothings changed. I'm sorry but story is ass
LMAO The author's comment
I agree yeah. White Paper City thing and the last 2, It feels like I lost respect for the MC. He keeps telling himself to be humble and cautious but acts reckless anyway and not only survives but profits almost completely due to luck. Then he tells himself to be humble and does it again.
On chapter 779. I initially loved this story but lately it feels like the protagonist has been over-reliant on getting lucky. It no longer feels like he's outplaying others but simply overwhelming them with plot armour, talent, and luck. They he has a cautious personality yet he's been frequently taking risks recently. I get his personality changed but feels like it's for the worse. When I started this novel I trusted the author would twist the story in unexpected ways, but I feel let down because everything feels boring and predictable. Like "oh! there's a predicament. Ning Zhou is somehow going to overcome it and reap great rewards." And then it happens repeatedly Translation is bad but I've read worse. Not a deal breaker for me.

I'm enjoying it so far (Chap 170). I love Reverend Insanity but that story is one of a kind to me. I don't want to read a story that's just trying to replicate it in a different setting. I don't know where this story will go and that's the fun of it. I trust the author is skilled enough to add twists and turns down the line and that's fine by me. I think Reverend Insanity is so wild because Fang Yaun has a high-risk high-reward mindset, while this story has a more cautious protagonist making it feel tame in comparison. But this protagonist is also still a child, meaning there's room to grow, unlike Fang Yaun who was almost fully developed mentally from the start.
So much wisdom in such a simple realization
