Why do I suspect that the basilisk blood is interfering with Lamia's magic? Since it gets temporarily confused by others touched by her, somebody having a significantly different biology than when the spell was originally applied would also mess with its effects.

A negligible difference. There’s a reason Pokémon natures modify stats by 10% rather than a fixed value. In case you were wondering, a Pokémon with an impish nature has +10% Defense and -10% Special Attack.

Michelle is probably going to revive like Hailey did, and I doubt Hailey is gone for good. After all, what's the narrative payoff for killing off characters we barely know? If you want to make a character death impactful, the reader should have an emotional attachment to said character. Besides, killing off not one but two potential MCs so quickly will incentivize readers to detach themselves from the characters throughout the world you're building.

Did this Earth's mass increase or just its size? A substantial increase in the planet's mass would mess with the delicate balance of its solar system. And if this is meant to be a parallel Earth, the increased gravity would cause the moon to be slowly ripped apart as it falls to the planet below, causing increasingly extreme tides and eventually earthquakes as it approaches.
This wasn't all; the vampire invasion brought a mutation to the world—the world grew several times its size due to the overflow of Aether from the rifts, and in doing so, it brought a mutation to the Earth's natural metals.
