it's just when comparing numbers using ratios is generally used when there is more than one person on each side while one is way bigger than the other. If it's just one person against many you can just say how many enemies it is.

??? there is so much "understood" information in this novel. We know he has a system but we haven't seen pretty much any proof except on skill. and now there are aliens?

Anand for this last part I'm leaving the book. Can't read a book about a supposedly neutral Mc enjoying the suffering of someone. if he were pure evil I'd put up with it. but this is mixed signals here.
