She could have ran from the start but the fact that she choose to fight at all is proof of her dedication. it depends on which version you go with. I belive orginally in jewish myth(keep in mind i am referring to old myths so they may not be fully accurate to current Jewish beliefs) the devil was not evil. He would test mortals with sinful temptations and punish evil doers but he did so under the orders of god and not out of opposition. He was more so Gods right hand man rather than his advery. I always felt that this version of the myth made more sense since in more modern depictions it seems like God is giving his greatest enemy the freedom to ruin and destroy his creations.
