ye but thats not this story. as simple as that.

the intentions of the system are to have it unlocked. if its no more system then most ppl will just not risk it and live normally without the system. nobody will try and randomly scam someone out of nowhere if they dont have a good enough reason. the death penalty here is to make the person unlock the system no matter what or else he will die. its trying to show the conviction and seriousness that the user should have towards the system.

he was from a well off family and used to be a lazy kid in the past. normally he would have asked his parents to get him cultivation manuals and resources if he ever decided to try cultivation, instead of getting it himself. if they somehow found out that he stole it, he would either be guilty to his parents for a long period of time till they forget this, or he would tell them about the system and that the system made him steal it. just mc being over cautious nothing else

He can't. The failure penalty ??? doesnt mean that there IS a penalty but mc doesnt know what it is. it just means the system isnt showing the mc the penalty. there could be no penatly, which is the case in this particular example cuz there is no way to fail this quest.

the pressure will cripple/kill them cuz the cultivation method is different for all three and the mind uses a different kind of energy. also if someone is at a high realm in soul and body it will barely make any difference in their power level if they were at lets say realm 1 layer 1 in mind. if they try to get to a high level in mind they will die cuz too much pressure. also about the resources thing a lot of ppl r poor and cultivation resources cost a lot so for like the rich aristocrats the resources arent a problem but if ur poor they kind of are

??? means its not being revealed. the failure penalty could be none it could also be death. its like the system is not showing the info to the mc.

hes in a game and these are the memories of the npc who used to be him but now he possesses that body so he also got the memories
