I'm still contemplating bout that. I have many ways to make him strong like Monster Mutation Phenomenon in OPM or let just Tohru teach him magic. Also, Tohru is already strong much more like Fafnir or Lucoa to deal with any threat. However, I'm not let him useless maybe I'll let Bang teach him so he could defend himself.
