This what I learned from Hamon Beat from youtube watch it The stands arrow are crafted by an unknown man from metorite from long long time ago, the metorite contain a virus that can kill you or give you a stand if you are compatible. Diavolo found the 6 crafted arrow from the desert, 5 with a normal design and 1 with a beetle carving. Diavolo sell the 5 stand arrow including the beetle carving to enyaba and keep the one. Enyaba give Dio the arrow and Dio stab himself this give Dio [The World]. Because of the high psychic link or high invicible connection from the Joestar Bloodline, when Dio stab himself, all the living Joestar are awakening there stand. Stand are can be manifest even though you didnt get stab by the arrow, as long as you have high potential to have one. When your stand are forcefully awakened and you cant handle it you can die, like what happened to Holly and Josuke, who get sick that why the crusaders need to kill Dio. (Sorry this wasnt finish my brain cant recalled what i watch but yoi can watch it in youtube Hamon Beat Channel)
