It went well until chapter 14, which is where it falls like all stories of this type. I wonder why all these protagonists need to say exactly who they are and where they came from to the good guys.

The problem is not polygamy, the problem is that the writers who choose that path don't know how to make the whole thing realistic, as they have always lived in a "monogamous" society.

Most authors don't even know how to write single girl romance properly. Harem will just turn your story into a botched wish-fulfillment.
