Leviathan is a divine being, there is leeway for the gods to help otherwise they are mostly forbidden from interfering. The fact that you’d be happier reading a novel where the gods show up every time he’s in trouble makes me think you need to read something else boyo 🤫

Tbh you can never please people. Despite thorfinn winning 90% of the battles he’s been in people think he’s weak because he lost to Dahlia. People really expect a teenager to beat a near immortal witch. (Oh but he beat the leviathan). Without the gods he would’ve been dead before he even saw him, in fact he was going to die but Freyr saved him. It’s sad when characters you like die, but what would you expect a character like Dahlia to do when a peasant managed to get one over on her. If things had gone another way and they beat Dahlia back, do you think she would’ve stopped coming? No she would’ve kept coming until she got what she wanted. Btw none of this is directed at you I was just getting kinda annoyed by people who seem to think this is a fairy tale story or by the majority of the others who want it to be a power wank. Anyway I’m probably gonna take a break from this fic for a bit and focus on my other ones. 👍🏻

If it’s not logical for the MC to be beaten he won’t be. By the time his son is a grown man Thorfinn will be an Original Vampire. Their relationship will be complicated, but they will have bigger things to worry about than each other.
