Imagine a monster has a base health of 30 and its attack 15. The damage that will be reflected is 16.5. Meaning, if you got struck two times, the goblin will die. That's an op skill and it's so op that you can just stand there and let the monster kill itself. This is just to justifiy the theme of the story, being lazy.
