From what I could tell just from the 1st chapter, this is one of those books that glorifies and puts China on a pedestal. On top of that, the main character is very rude toward the opposite sex, referring to them as if they were objects rather than human beings — more like achievements to be unlocked than actual people. In short, a main character who thinks this way, even internally, is not worth reading about in my opinion.
