You're right, and as the story goes on, Shu XinYi does try to neutralize things with him, you'll see.
On the other hand, his second disciple seemed very lost. Shu XinYi couldn't exactly understand what XinShu is thinking or feeling but he had a clue. According to Snow, XinShu has a pure heart which means that he rarely carries hate in his heart. Though this statement could be challenged, but since the world background says that this is XinShu's character then Shu XinYi would believe so. Since he is pure hearted it would give him a difficult time to hate on LiHua, who is currently behaving like a good man. But XinShu is also not willing to let go of the hate, why is that? I have been having trouble writing, I don't want to say it's a writers block, but well, I have to admit it. I can't write well enough since a part of me is forcing myself to write, to upload a new chapter, but with the time I get during the day, after college and my other personal stuff, I don't have time to do all: self reflect, edit properly, and write in a patient and thoughtful manner. When I was writing that part, I also thought of it. In my imagination the ML was hoisted up, like with his elbow was on the ground and his upper body hovering above. I couldn't describe this in words so I just went with laying, if you have suggestions on how to write this, please tell.

So if a mermaid gets any evil intentions, instead of them, it's the Sirens who feel them and get affected by them. So Rue wanted to ease this affect on Sirens, and as he said, he had a pure heart, thinking this, he used his demi God powers to absorb all bad emotions from Sirens, like Sirens did for mermaids. But unbeknownst to Rue, until recently atleast, those emotions were actually effecting the planet because Rue was absorbing them. Rue said that he and the planet are one, and he doesn't fully understand how that works so he didn't know he was responsible until recently. That's it, hope it simplified things.

So basically, Rue is a demiGod born to a mermaid and God in human form. They xx in human form so Rue was born human. That's when the God let mermaids become human. By the way, before the God did this, Mermaids were like angels who had pure hearts. Later, humans dissapointed the God so he punished that generation, making them into sirens. As for mermaids, apart from that human generation, a new generation of mermaids prospered and they had human hearts, not pure like angels. But their hearts had a lock placed by the God to punish the Sirens in their stead.
