I think changing perspectives here for now is a good idea. There is not a lot Sophie can really do or that can happen to her that wouldnt require breaking characters or heavily accelerating the plot. Talking about what the parents are doing, maybe even some more information on the general structure of the other empires, will provide both time for you to come up with new ideas and for time to progress within the novel aswell. Meaning after a while there could be a general kind of wrap up chapter exploring what sophie did during the time we followed her parents. I may like our sapphic spidey couple more than the het one, but I dont think there is a lot that can be done with them rn that wouldnt be senseless or actively detrimental.
