What? This entire chapter needs to be refined. I love the story and appreciate the chapter but this is dfficult to understand at times.

Just throwing this out here but, it doesn’t make sense that Thale would approach the guy because you said that the trial takers are stronger. Maybe have the the guy he captures actually fight the creatures and come out victorious but weakened. Then have him be snatched by Thale.
