I understand this is for plot purposes but i really don't like this rhetoric, someone annexes power by slaughtering the strongest people in the villages like chickens? that village didn't get weaker, the only real weakening that happened is losing root and it's disruptive (and intelligence) activities in other countries. And maybe it will be easier to infiltrate with spies because of turbulent times. War? bad idea.
