Seeing as in the movies Kamar-Taj was in Nepal, Tom sent Mimsy to buy him a portkey to and from there. He knew that there are sanctums all over the world, but Tom has no idea where they are. There's probably one in every major city, but at what address? Tom didn't know, so he would have to do things the hard way. By the time Mimsy arrived with the portkeys, It was already late, so Tom would set out tomorrow. The next morning, Tom did his usual exercises before leaving via portkey to Nepal.
