Bro I have been desperately waiting for this chapter! I'm glad she was just as annoyed with his proposal as I was. Glad to see him squirm. You can really see his insecurities in this part. Gosh... If only he'd take things slower and give her space to be herself, at least from now on, their relationship would be significantly better in the long haul. Can he really not help but be manipulative? That ring is definitely suspicious and ~totally~ not a shackle in disguise. Bet the egg is her payment for freedom or a dowry. Gosh I want her to be a Phoenix mama. I also really want her new stations to be announced soon so she can sleep on a nice bed and get some softer clothes. She desperately needs some family bonding time. With the preggers sister too.
Cain was a hot mess this chapter. The honesty is refreshing but he needs to work on being consistently honest with her. Wish the proposal wasn't an 'exchange.' Really cheapens the proposal, Duke. For their engagement, she needs to live in a different building and send some time with her family. She needs to develop a new sense of self that is not wholly dependent on him.
Oh my goodness I wasn't expecting ANY of that! Owwww did he sign a contract with the old creepy dude? Same path as Kendrick? His mom definitely had something to do with this. Also really creepy he did all of that. Wasn't he supposed to be busy all of the time? But I guess it's not out of character for him...
Hi I'm back again! Couldn't figure out how to update my previous review. Everything I said before still holds true till now (Chapter 57). Characters still have depth and complexity to them. However, we now have a magic system that was introduced after the characters and setting were well established. I find this quite refreshing as we got to know the characters as people before we indulged in some of the fantasy elements that I adore. The magic system is slowly revealed, as the main character is fairly ignorant. So far so good. The cast has also expanded and new conflicts are arising. I'm just sitting at the edge of my seat hoping that everything turns out okay for the main character!
The Making of a Yandere: Part 1. Man, I love this so much! We rarely get to see the internal thoughts of a young yandere in training. Disturbing how he viewed Isabelle as a perfect pawn. However, it's probably the only lens he had to view the world. He did not have an internal archetype for love or friendship, which is the parents' shortcomings. Hopes to healthier thoughts in the future!
Darn I wanted to see the reveal moment! Anyway I'm glad they know their relationship. I hope she gets formally recognized as his daughter and the duke isn't too much of a butt head about it. Lolz it might actually make it easier for her to become the duchess due to a rise in status. However, he is probably going to take it as Kendrick taking her away from him. Ideally their relationship can mature as she becomes a noble woman outside of the Duke's house and family. A bit of space would probably do them some good. Also former duchess was probs a witch or knew one
