But if that were the case he would probably be a known person on the leader board. It's also looking like jj didn't get that card and lily's even though his life force is what killed her. I guess that card was a bit op so the author probably wanted to get rid of it for the sake of the plot.

He used the holy sect to get to the central continent so my guess is that the same thing will get him to the immortal dimension. It's already been alluded to that he has an ability that can affect sovereigns so in a way he's making a bit of contact with the current cultivation ceiling, which usualing indicates in most cultivation novels I've read, that it's about to be raised. Also I doubt he'll have the strength to retain independence once he gets to the immortal dimension especially if the immortal city is some sort of recruitment test, would they just let such dangerous talents walk away? Probably not.
