I think it has to do with the fact that as you said she is an enemy who just caused harm to the protagonist after they spent time bonding together. so regardless of whether she was an enemy or not anyone would feel like it's a betrayal. not to mention the author expects us all to start liking an enemy just because she's cute. if someone did some shit like this in real life only someone truly deluded or pathetic would forgive and start trusting her. someone who is begging to be taken advantage of or hurt. not hating on the story just expressing my feelings towards the romance and character. I actually have been loving this fic
I think the issue stems more from the dislike of the trope itself. it's true that we've all probably read a story with that trope before but being familiar with something doesn't mean that we'll end up liking it. I personally am not a fan of the trope as I can't really comprehend how certain character can just shrug off things like betrail or other wronged done by another and move on like it never happened. it just seems so unrealistic to me.
😞
I find this story to have a ton of potential. I love see the authors portrayals of the characters and their dynamics. this fic will probably far as long as it isn't dropped. I'm hyped to stick around.
