Okay, I’ll be honest, I’m already tired of this term. (Dog Lick) It's used by everyone in the story as if it were the same person with the same set of thoughts. I doubt that anyone even uses such a term. It sounds stupid and unnatural. Use analogues or other descriptions, otherwise it smells of hackwork and childishness.

Not really. The seal only forces Naruto to independently deal with problems that a person should be able to solve himself. Most parents do the same thing to teach you independence. Unless the seal does it a little more severely, due to the lack of feelings.

They can't, they're part of the seal. If the seal didn't take root in Naruto, their soul pieces wouldn't be able to take hold in him, and would simply disappear. Minato can still make some adjustments and have a small effect on the seal, but soon even those abilities will disappear as the seal becomes more complex.
