Because of the time, it would be unlikely for a man to accept a women with child as a wife since they were not virgins. Because of this, Lucy and Calhoun has the same father. Now because of Calhoun and Theos mentions of the village, it was Likely that Calhoun's mother is nothing more then a mistress as thoes were common with high status men. Which would make Lucy's mother the queen. I would come to the conclusion that sophie is related to Calhoun to his father's side because Sophie mentioned that her brother Marcus would have became king if it wasn't for Calhoun. Because the crown would have went to the oldest male ligament child who was born within a marriage and Marcus was the closest oldest male that had royal blood that was born within marriage.
