Constant repetitions and limited depth to characters aside, the super rushed ending ruined it for me. Although I enjoyed reading this to some extent, I still feel unattached to story and the novel as a whole from the point the repetitions kicked in. The power grinding and realms aside the world background and different alien races were pretty good. Initial character interactions were good too. MCs views on appearances and the repulsive combination of his stupid and genocidal behaviours was hard to digest.

No. Next level up comes either by training and time, or, another emotional incident. The incident doesn't hv to be his loved one dying. In Nekko's case, for Rayzen that was him adjusting to the morality of ninja world. He wasn't pushed to despair, but sad by what he had done and confused as to who he has become now and what his future entailed. A big change in his moral code was making him insecure.

For a emotionally disturbed Rayzen, it was enough to think that 'what if' that guy was forced into doing stuff that he never wanted to. You can also consider this similar to the psychology of how people expect a serial killer to not kill by humanizing the victim as much as possible. ( movie psychology 😋). Here the root nin made Rayzen feel that he was killing a human, instead of a cold blooded ruthless mass murderer. Hence all the self-doubts.

For the readers, Rayzen and patriarch, the second time, true. But for the crowd waiting to hear the punishment, it's the first time. How would it be forced then? The patriarch has to give an apt punishment for Rayzen that doesn't affect him or his future severely at the same time. He must appear neutral even though he favours Rayzen.

I did this to put a limiter on Sharingan. We know Sharingan can't copy other kekkei genkais. Having both mastery of lightning nature and Sharingan , Sasuke never copied Raikage's op lightning cloak. So I assumed other factors could restrict the copying abilities like physique. For gentle fist, you can copy it, but it will just be an imitation. What is being copied is merely a rigid set of movements, that is analysed by Sharingan. And this will be useless, as gentle fist is a soft style martial art. But it can be argued that Sasuke copied Lee's style. But that was a rigid set of movements used at the right time for the best effect. My thought process is that Sharingan lets you copy all these things and use them. But the copied things need to be understood well enough to bring out their true potential in battle. This can also be one of the reasons why only Kakashi got the title Copy Ninja, despite many Uchiha having Sharingan.
