Seriously, Volcano Manor is one of the most confusing and bizarre locations in the game. Sometimes I get the feeling the devs deliberately tried to stop the player from reaching it. There's probably some hidden lore behind this…

Tbh I didn't know completing lady tanith's questline sent you to the boss. I just always go through the godskin nobles and the rest of hell incarnate.
