Whoever turned Simon was a powerful vampire. Probably one of the original vampires. I wouldn't be surprised if Simon is working with him to keep their kind safe, or maybe bring balance? Based on Simon's story, the man who turned him has something bigger to attend to than see through Simon's transition. He also seemed sensible. Can't wait to know him in the coming chapters.

Looks like the Corvin is keen on keeping her in the Willow Creek. Must be fulfilling its promise to protect her and lead her where it thought she belongs to... or it's another Corvin, which master is also keen on keeping Julie in the Willow Creek, not just killing her in an instant.
