I posted this almost a month ago so I might be wrong however I believe it stated he could purchase something that could cure his mother of her illness as he had felt guilty in the beginning about using the families supplies to creat currency in or to awaken Chakra.I believe he wondered if he should first awaken chakra or purchase something to cure his mother. I might not have it completely correct but I remember getting the impression he would be able to cure his mother with enough wealth.
