That is a great outlook, having a shorter sword that is single edged like the saber or a tanto would allow him to use the blunt edge better for parrying and also allow him to get inclose or using a longer dagger.

I think that it should be a dagger and a short sword combo, Emery does not seem the type to use a shield 🛡 combo. though dual dagger s Is also one of my fav styles especially one that has a jagged blade in the off hand for maximum damage!
