PGOD is a book series for young adults created by Kabir Singh & Judy Goh.
The story perfectly captures the world that the author has envisioned, a dark, macabre world riddled with terrifying creatures that come out during the night. The pace of the story is steady and can be followed easily. It has a great element of world background and makes you feel as if the story isn't centered around the actions of the main character and that the world carries on in the background regardless of what the protagonist is up to. The main character is multi-layered and not at all like the one dimensional protagonists you would find in other stories. I'm looking forward to future updates from this story.
Thanks for your comment! In the Kindle/ebook version of our book, and on platforms where this is supported, thoughts are italicised. Webnovel does not support this formatting function, unfortunately. We'll look into a possible fix for clarity.
The story is just getting started but it is highly promising. While there are many unanswered questions, the story is following through on a group of young main characters with superpowers. We'll just have to see what the title of the book has to do with the story, and how the opening scene is linked to our main protagonists!
This paragraph is in present tense, while everything before this was in past tense. Pick one, perhaps?
A nice tidbit dropped here with Julius/name of someone... I wonder what the reference is to?
As an opening, a lot of things are happening quickly. For the reader, this can be confusing. I'd recommend you to break this up into several paragraphs, so that the pace of eye movement follows the scene. You may also want to set up more background before action takes place. We are introduced to a new time, character and experiences all within the span of 1 paragraph!
The story has a fun fantasy-adventure plot. I would love to see more character development and world-building! Please write more about this immersive world. As a fellow writer, I would advise you to check on punctuation so that the flow is easier to follow :)
The story is action-packed and there are a lot of updates. The plot moves quickly with dialogue and travelling time-jumps. Even though the author does not have English as their first language, the story is worth reading for the creativity!
Fascinating premise... I kept reading! The plot really picks up in Chapter 5. Breta, the lead female character, is the strong, smart and witty heroine that we all aspire to. Rooting for her success!
That man is a scary sight!
Thanks for honest comments and reading through the entire plot. We indeed conceptualised the story as a comic/manga adaptation. From the perspective of a reader, we understand the chapter breaks on your reading behaviour. But please understand that unlike a lot of other writers on Webnovel who write as a hobby (perhaps even you yourself), PGOD is our sole professional project even though we offer it free on this platform. In future, you may wish to consider supporting independent novelists and creators such as us.
This is definitely a good read. The writing style is more laidback and easy to grasp. The dialogs are well thought. I wish there were more chapters I could read but I guess, good things take time.
I really like the set up and the characters feel realistic especially Regina. The author knows how to bring the book to life. Its still in its early stages but I have a feeling it will pick up a lot in the future.
The world-building of this medieval plot is very good, and dialogue is impeccable. The command of English is commendable. I am new to the isekai genre, so that part was a bit jarring...
The intricate world that is described from Chapter 4 onwards is exciting stuff and we get deep into the mind of the nihilistic protagonist - this is a great contrast! It was a bit interesting to see (sfx splash!) to indicate sounds, but now we're used to this notation. Keep up the good work!
Agreed - this nuance in philosophy is something that my book also refers to. This shows just how common humanity is.
Thank you for saying that we're amazing... twice! We hope you follow the story through because there is more drama in development...
