The translation is bad, but not illegible, but the way its written makes reading this so tedious. I generally despise the genre gamelit, systems, but give the fact that this was based on dnd I was keen to give it a try. Poor judgement on my part. I'm on chapter 126 and reading this is as engaging and entertaining as passing a kidney stone with the size and shape of a spike marble.
Not only is this bad, it also has barely anything to do with innkeeping. And it's plagued with clichés and trashy tropes all over, since the very beginning of the story.
It's a shame, because it felt that this novel had huge potential, despite falling in easy and bland narrative clutches such as a system or litrpg framework, it felt like the author really tried to show the impact of such unbelievable tools for godly intervention (ala deus ex machina) on this world and their characters, making everything more real and enjoyable. This soon is lost when we stopped having this attempt of smart approach and felt into not only bland, but unoriginal characters and clichè, almost campy events. From chapter 26-29 you can feeltje drop in quality... I read until chapter 60 i think, and until then, it didn't get any better imho.
Author dropped the ball in this chapter, heavily imo. Turned what felt like an appropiate character being developed into a stereotypical harem member, just the day after giving herself to him. That cringey 'I love you' from the previous chapters was already a huge stretch, and this chapter ended up tearing any semblance of credibility and coherence this story attemped to have. The pacing is fast and awkward aswell. I liked the taming bits though!
The colored magic trash plot was so, so bad that I came to webnovel just to write this before dropping the novel. My god, what a miss. The writing up to chapter 60 holds somewhat, 65 was tone that did it for me. It maddens me slightly the contrast in quality from what was before.
