I'm uncertain about how to feel regarding Priscilla's pursuit of the Duke as he sets out (by chance) to find Evelina. While Priscilla's intentions may be good, I have my doubts that this encounter will end positively. 🤞

I'm still waiting for the "Evelina meets Duke Alexander" moment, but this was a great chapter. I'm more touched by how Prissy avoided just telling Evelina that it was the Duke who had just arrived. Such a realistic friendship. Smh. As for Colin, I guess he was too shocked to speak and then knowing his mother and sister's intention to trap his best friend into marrying the latter while Alexander is heavily in love with Evelina aka his sister's best friend, it was just too much for him and so he had to run away or better yet find Alexander before he had a chance to meet Evelina himself.

So Priscilla is Colin's sister and also Evelina's best friend, but her mother wants her to marry the Duke, whom Colin is currently chastising for not going after the woman he wants (the right way, that is). Oh boy! I wonder how Priscilla would take it if she knew that Alexander was already very much involved with Evelina.

I should probably wait a few more chapters before dropping this, but no. I can't. This book is just too good, it makes me want to cry. The slow build up between the main characters is something to cringe at and like this book is definitely worth your time.
